Traditional Publishing
E-book publishing (e-book)
Does not have an existing platform (reputation, blog)
Has an existing platform to marker and distribute
Doesn’t need to make money from their book to pay the
bills
Will depend more on the book income to survive
Takes several processes before you can launch your product
Faster to launch the product
Time consuming and wastes al lot of resources and money
when a book needs to be revised and printed again to share
Free to update your book whenever you want and however
through the computer
The author completes his/her manuscript, writes a proposal
and submits it to the publishing house where they review it and decide whether
it is a good product for sale or not. The publishers then are rightfully
allowed to decide on the design and package of the book, prints as many
copies of the book as it thinks will sell.
An author who decides to self-publish basically becomes
the publisher. The author proofreads the final text and publishes it online
for anyone to purchase and view
The many prints of the book may al l not be sold creating
various losses
There are no losses in publishing an e-book as you can
make as many copies as you like.
Time consuming method to create the book and publish it.
The author has to take the book to several publishing houses to look out for
their interest in the book. The actual publishing takes another year.
With self-publishing an e-book, as soon as you are done
with making the book you can publish it without and consent and re-publish as
many revised copies several times which is less time consuming.
With traditional publishing costs are very high due to the
printing, editing, advertising and distributing
When publishing tan e-book the costs are usually lower as
everything is done online
With traditional publishing, the authors do not have any
control over whether the book will be published or not as they need the
publishers full consent and acceptance of the literature
The publishing of the book is all under the authors
control and they decide whether to publish it online or not.
